One of the hardest parts about J2EE development is getting started. There is an immense amount of open source tools for web app development. Making a decision on which technologies to use can be tough -- actually beginning to use them can be even more difficult. Once you've decided to use Struts and Hibernate, how do you go about implementing them? If you look on the Hibernate site or the Struts site, you'll probably have a hard time finding any information on integrating the two. What if you want to throw Spring into the mix? As a developer, the best way for me to learn is by viewing sample apps and tutorials that explain how to extend those applications. In order for me to learn (and remember) how to integrate open source technologies such as Hibernate, Spring, Struts, and Ant/XDoclet, I created AppFuse. The beauty of AppFuse is you can actually get started with Hibernate, Spring, and Struts without even knowing much about them. Using test-driven development, AppFuse and its tutorials will show you how to develop a J2EE web application quickly and efficiently. |

Recently, I was doing a task which needs to consider avoiding multiple transactions coming from different servers interfere each other. Since we also require to record the time of the task, I proposed using Oracle Timestamp type to keep the data integrity of multiple transactions. |

BEA has recently achieved a number of impressive benchmarks, including some world records. But what do they mean? As a group, these benchmarks measure performance and scale and conclude that BEA WebLogic Server can process more transactions per CPU than other application servers, for a lower TCO. Also, these benchmarks highlight how well BEA WebLogic Server integrates into heterogeneous environments. It's the only application server that has been benchmarked on a variety of hardware and databases, demonstrating BEA's commitment to providing best-of-breed choice and enabling you to maximize your existing investments.

Webinar: Meeting customer demands BEA and AMR Research on increasing business responsiveness
Today's customers are spoiled for choice—and what makes them choose to go with one company is often its responsiveness to their needs. In this recently archived Webinar, Eric Austvold, research director at AMR Research, and Mark Atherton, VP of solutions marketing at BEA, discuss how companies can meet demands for more responsive service. They explore the issues surrounding the limitations of single customer service applications and the role of innovation in differentiating companies at the point of customer interface.

New code, new tools, more platform support
BEA recently demonstrated its continuing commitment to expanding the Java community with new code releases, expanded platform support, and a toolset for Apache Beehive. Apache Beehive, the lightweight metadata-driven component model that accelerates the development of SOAs, is currently in incubation. BEA's M1 code release is now available for use in both Apache Beehive open-source development and by BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1 users, to help developers begin developing and collaborating on SOA-based applications. Red Hat demonstrated Apache Beehive applications running on JOnAS, and CodeHaus demonstrated Apache Beehive running on Apache Geronimo, adding to support by BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 and Apache Tomcat. BEA and Codehaus also collaborated to create additional tools for Apache Beehive, including a control for Hibernate.
