New code, new tools, more platform support
BEA recently demonstrated its continuing commitment to expanding the Java community with new code releases, expanded platform support, and a toolset for Apache Beehive. Apache Beehive, the lightweight metadata-driven component model that accelerates the development of SOAs, is currently in incubation. BEA's M1 code release is now available for use in both Apache Beehive open-source development and by BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1 users, to help developers begin developing and collaborating on SOA-based applications. Red Hat demonstrated Apache Beehive applications running on JOnAS, and CodeHaus demonstrated Apache Beehive running on Apache Geronimo, adding to support by BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 and Apache Tomcat. BEA and Codehaus also collaborated to create additional tools for Apache Beehive, including a control for Hibernate.
